Baby’s meals when travelling

When you decide to travel with young children, it’s important to manage baby food when you’re on the move.

We share with you our experience after travelling to a country where the water is not drinkable. We had to make baby bottles and heat baby food. And following a previous experience on a flight, we also had to find a trick to heat the water in the bottle ‘quickly’ on the plane.

Our needs for baby’s meals when travelling are therefore :

  • Heating baby bottles and teats on holiday
  • Sterilise feeding bottles and teats when travelling, either for hygiene reasons or because the water is undrinkable.
  • Heating water when travelling (without an electrical socket)

Chauffe biberon babymilk second grey

You can do almost anything with this bottle warmer to prepare baby’s meals when travelling. Heat bottles (whether water, breast milk or growing-up milk) and even baby food jars.
And best of all, it can sterilise bottles and teats (1 at a time). Given its low cost, don’t expect a precise timer. As you use it, you’ll soon get the hang of the timing. Also, be careful not to get burnt, so make sure you have something to wipe the bottle with when you take it out. Don’t forget to bring the right adaptor for the electrical socket in the country you’re visiting.

Izybaby

Much more expensive than the 1st, but necessary if you want to heat water when there’s no electricity. The Izybaby is a nomad bottle warmer (it heats the liquid of your choice). One advantage is that it’s USB rechargeable, so you can plug it in on a plane. It’s not much bigger than a feeding bottle. The disadvantage is that it has a small capacity, so for older children who need 300 ml it’s not the best solution; it’s maximum 240 ml. The product presentation is very clear on the official website. We only saw it available on the brand’s website and on Amazon.
