Theo, 16, shares his adventure in Cambodia with his family

Traveling as a family means creating unique memories. In the first podcast “Dans mon canapé” (On my couch), Théo, 16, Matth’s son, offers us a fresh and authentic look at our family trip to Cambodia in February 2025. Accompanied by Matth’s mother, we explored this fascinating country for 15 days. Théo recounts his experience, enriched by excerpts from interviews with his grandmother (very authentic).

🇰🇭 A Cambodian immersion through the eyes of a teenager

In this episode, Théo takes us on a journey to discover the temples of Angkor at sunrise and sunset, the bustling market of Phnom Penh, the island of Koh Rong and its tourism, as well as bioluminescent phytoplankton. Finally, he introduces us to the pepper plantations of Kampot. Théo talks about seeing live chickens being cut up at the market in Phnom Penh, which seemed complicated for a vegetarian. He recounts his plane journey to Cambodia and the different modes of transport he used: tuk-tuk, bus, coach, boat, train, taxi and 4×4, but no private jet. He also talks about his stopover in Singapore, which enriched his experience. His account highlights the highlights of the trip. We also discover his impressions of the climate, the Cambodian people, and more.

👵 The wisdom of a traveling grandmother

Matth’s mother is traveling with us, as she is staying two weeks longer than we are. She agreed to be interviewed to share her impressions and anecdotes, offering an intergenerational perspective on this adventure. Her reflections add an emotional and humorous dimension to Théo’s account. They also talk about their experiences with stray dogs in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
