This Saturday, November 9, 2024, Nivelles vibrated to the rhythm of inclusion and joy. It was the official opening of its new inclusive playground, Le Monde d’Ayden. This unique space, dedicated to all children, whether disabled or not, embodies a model of diversity and conviviality. Inspired by the success of the Uccle playground, this new facility aims to provide a stimulating play environment. It is accessible and respectful of every child’s needs.

This indoor children’s playground opened to the public on Saturday.

Le monde d’Ayden – An ambitious project

The creation of Le Monde d’Ayden is the fruit of an ambitious project. It aims to break down barriers and promote social inclusion. The playground is intended to be a place where every child can play, have fun, interact and develop, regardless of ability. Children can explore a multitude of play areas adapted to their age and interests:

• The firefighter module: A captivating adventure course that lets budding little firefighters imagine themselves as rescuers in action.
• Slides and a giant ball pool: Guaranteed fun for all.
• An area dedicated to toddlers: A corner specially designed for the very young.
• The Snoezelen room: A sensory and soothing space, perfect for relaxing and stimulating the senses.

Themed areas

Le Monde d’Ayden offers interactive zones that allow children to immerse themselves in different worlds:

• Nest swings: A moment of relaxation or collective play.
• Distorting mirrors: Fun installations to discover visual effects and have fun with your reflection.
• The psychomotricity zone: Courses to work on coordination and balance while having fun.

SAM – Immersive experience at the Monde d’Ayden in Nivelles

Enter the room, relax and plunge into a world of well-being & discovery… This is a new space created specifically for the Nivelles playground. “In this space, you can enjoy a unique multi-sensory experience, designed to awaken the senses and nurture well-being. This innovative therapeutic environment offers a sensory journey suitable for everyone, with a special focus on people with disabilities.” We had pre-booked our “SAM” session. On site, we were able to choose between 3 worlds. Ancient Egypt and the desert, an island paradise or the discovery of dinosaurs. It was a new experience for us, and the kids loved it. We’ll leave you with the surprise of the discovery and tell you no more…

Price: This is a complementary activity not included in the entrance ticket – €6 per 15-minute session (max. 4 people per session).
